Alland Leandre Receives Black Engineer
of the Year Entrepreneur Award:
Columbia,
MD, Feb. 25, 2008 -- Alland Leandre received the Entrepreneur Award
before an exuberant audience at the Black Engineer of the Year (BEYA)
Awards Conference 2008 held Feb. 14-17, celebrating the most distinguished
minorities in the science and technology fields in institutions
ranging from the U.S. military to the civil service to industry.
Leandre’s recognition with only five years under his belt as the
Chief Executive Officer of Vyalex Management Solutions, Inc., a
small avionics engineering and management company headquartered
in Howard County, Maryland, illustrates the combined power of business
and technology. In fact, this coveted award has not been given every
year in the 22 year history of the conference.

Award for 2007 from the University of Maryland University College,
the Governor’s Office of Minority Affairs (GOMA) and the Maryland
Chamber of Commerce. The award will be presented in a ceremony that
will take place on November 8th at the University of Maryland University
College.
According to the business, governmental and academic alliance sponsoring

Vyalex’s Five Year Anniversary Gala
Celebration (June 2007)
“I remember distinctly back in June 2002 being on campus at the University
of Michigan in Ann Arbor and thinking about starting this company
and what kind of thoughts were going to my head. I can honestly tell
you that where we are today, though it was my vision, I never anticipated
would be happening in just five years.”
From five years ago to today, Vyalex has grown tremendously. It’s gone from Leandre being primarily a management consultant working as an independent contractor to leading a company with roughly thirty people who specialize in providing customer service and global partnerships. Leandre admits, “I think that’s a tremendous growth. It shows the level of blessings that we’ve attained more so than the responsibilities that I can really say I’m responsible for.”
While five years and counting, the bottom line today for Vyalex
is always the same, “Excellence Delivered.”
